There are so many food options at Disneyland that sometimes it can be hard to choose where to go and when.  I’ve made it my personal mission over the last year to try something new every single visit. I’d love to say I’ve tried everything but alas, I’m not even close.  I have, however, already identified some goodies that are my go-to recommendations for friends and family and thought I’d share with you!

BREAKFAST

1. Mickey Waffles – Carnation Cafe

My hands-down favorite breakfast at Disneyland are the Mickey Waffles at the Carnation Cafe – not necessarily because they are the best waffles I’ve ever had in my life but because they are a Disneyland staple and let’s face it, so darn cute.  They come with a side of fruit compote, cream, and syrup so you can make them however you like to eat your waffles. Make sure you make a reservation at Carnation Cafe prior to your visit if you want a chance at trying these gems.

2. Cinnamon Roll – Jolly Holiday Bakery
Coming in at a VERY close second, is the cinnamon roll at the Jolly Holiday Bakery.  This is a steal at $5.49.  It’s quite possibly the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten.  It comes out piping hot with melted frosting and is a pretty large size.  I would get this every single visit if I could.  And it’s also super easy since the Jolly Holiday doesn’t require a reservation.

LUNCH
1. Corn Dog – Little Red Wagon
Another Disneyland staple, the corn dogs from the Little Red Wagon at the end of Main Street are a fantastic option for lunch.  Not only are they super tasty but it’s also quick, so if you want speed & flexibility in your schedule this would be my go-to.  Tip: You don’t have to get the combo meal when you order.  If you just want the corn dog let them know and it’ll be a bit cheaper.

2. Tostada Salad – Rancho del Zocalo
If I’m feeling like I want to be a bit “healthier” for lunch, I’ll hit up Rancho del Zocalo’s for their Tostada Salad.  You can get this with steak or chicken.  They’ll make it right in front of you so if there’s anything you want them to hold (like cheese or beans) it’s no problem.  Disclaimer: This salad is HUGE so you can easily split it with someone else in your group who’s looking to go the healthy route too.

3. Poutine Flatbread (or any flatbread, really) – Red Rose Taverne
I just tasted the Poutine Flatbread at the Beauty & the Beast pop-up quick service restaurant, Red Rose Taverne, over in Fantasyland and it was truly love at first bite.  This flatbread is a super unique combination of flavors including roasted garlic aioli, gravy, pommes frites, and slow cooked beef!  I’m not sure how long the Red Rose Taverne is going to be at Disneyland but even if/when it turns back into Pinocchio’s Village Haus the variety of flatbreads are dynamite!

DINNER
1. Fried Chicken – Plaza Inn
To say I’m obsessed with the fried chicken at Plaza Inn would be an understatement. I insist that all first-timers try it. It’s definitely the best fried chicken I have ever eaten – EVER!  It comes with a side of mashed potatoes, a veggie, and biscuit; and all of those are to die for too.  I really like the Plaza Inn for dinner (as opposed to lunch) because it’s close to Main Street for the parade and fireworks so you can take your time eating while you scope out the crowds and when you might want to secure a spot to watch.  (Heck, I’ve even watched the parade and fireworks while still eating at my table!)  This is a massive portion too, so if I can, I prefer to split this one too.

SNACKS
1. Cheddar Garlic Bagel Twist – Maurice’s Treats
I love love love this snack. It’s a warm bundle of cheesy savory goodness. It’s pretty inexpensive at $4.99 too. Need I say more?

2. Dole Whip Float – Tiki Juice Bar
I know… everyone says, “Get the Dole Whip!” and they’re right.  I really didn’t want to be cliche with my list of favs but I can’t not add this.  It’s so refreshing on a hot day and I find myself craving them all the time.

3. Pumpkin Beignets – Mint Julep Bar
These are only available during the fall season but believe me, I wait all year for them.  The original beignets are great too but these pumpkin beignets are just a flavor shot to the mouth.  If you like pumpkin then you have to try these.

4. Sugar Cookies – Candy Palace
I randomly discovered the sugar cookies at the Candy Palace on Main Street because my mom has an addiction to sweets and bought us way too many cookies from the counter.  I was skeptical at first because I have extremely high expectations for cookies (so high that I rarely indulge unless I know it’s going to be worth it).  These cookies lived up to my expectations and beyond.  I’ve had a few gross cookies at Disneyland if I’m completely honest, but the ones at the Candy Palace are soft and the perfect amount of sugar and vanilla.

I’ve still barely scratched the surface of all the different foods at Disneyland and would love to add some new food goals for my future trips.  What are your favorite foods at the park?  Please share below!
