Ah, April 1st, the start of Disneyland’s most treasured scavenger hunt, the EGG-STRAVAGANZA.  Last year was my first year participating and it was a ridiculous amount of fun.  For those who haven’t done this yet, I thought I’d give you a little rundown of what to expect.

First there are three Egg-stravaganza maps that you can purchase this year: one for Disneyland, one for California Adventure, and one for Downtown Disney.  Each one can be purchased in that area of Disney.  For Disneyland you can get your map inside of the Disneyland Emporium, Cali Adventure inside Elias & Co, and for Downtown Disney inside World of Disney.  They sell them at the cash registers and they are $5.99 per map.  Each map comes with a sleeve of stickers.

The idea is that you walk around the parks and try to find hidden Easter eggs in various locations.  When you find the egg, you match that sticker from the sleeve with the open egg location on your map.  Once you’ve found all the hidden eggs and filled out your map, you can redeem a prize at designated prizing areas around the parks.  The prize is a collectible plastic Disney-themed Easter egg.

Below are the collectible eggs you can earn from this year’s scavenger hunt:

Last year I did the maps for Disneyland and Downtown Disney.  (I ran out of time otherwise I would have done all three).  I had such a blast doing these.  They are easy enough for kids to participate in but not so easy that you’re done in 5 minutes.  I would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Disneyland in the next couple of weeks.

This year’s EGG-Stravaganza begins today and will go through April 16. For more information check out the Disney Parks Blog
